I.K.R.A. are planning to erect in Liverpool
city centre a permanent memorial statue for all Kingsmen that have died
as a result of serving in Northern Ireland.
We are hoping that the statue will take the form of a 1970’s Kingsman on patrol in Northern Ireland. We have approached the artist, Tom Murphy, liverpoolsculptures who has done many excellent pieces of work around the city. Tom Murphy has agreed to attend a committee meeting to inform the Association of what is required for this project.
There is an understanding that this project is a huge project for our Association and will cost tens of thousands of pounds to be completed. A separate bank account has been set up in the name of ‘Memorial Fund’ for donations to be made or standing orders to be given. If any person would like to make a donation then make the cheque payable to ‘Memorial Fund’ and send to:-
HQ I.K.R.A. New Derry Social Club Mere Lane Everton Liverpool L5 0QW
When the standing order forms are received from the bank, any person wanting to make a monthly contribution to the ‘Memorial Fund’ will be able to obtain the standing order form from the Treasurer.
Each month a balance will be displayed on this page along with all other information concerning the memorial statue.
